Automotive photography is the most exciting and personally rewarding form of photography out there. Hence the ever increasing popularity of the occupation nowadays. Car shows in the early 2000s - and even as far as 2017 - had people mostly attending with nothing but their eyes capturing the moments with the exception of a few photographers here and there. Now it seems as if everyone has a camera in their hand with the exception of a few older folks taking in the nostalgia of the glory days. It's clear to see that times have changed, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. More photographers just mean more images, and more images mean higher and clearer standards for good photographs.

This is one of the reasons why automotive photography is also one of the hardest professions in which to succeed. Sure, you probably understand angles, own a polarizer, and know how to use a camera. But so does the photographer beside you at the car show. Only a small amount of photographers have separated themselves from the pack, and those are the photographers that brands go to for their photos. Those photographers are the ones that get more clients and gain access to better cars. Those are the few who have won the game of car photography, and are at the place where most car photographers strive to be.
This guide will go through the depths of the automotive photography profession and will give you practical ways enhance your photographs and make your way up the automotive photography totem poll. Automotive photography is much more than just the photos... But that's where we'll start.
