Acquiring and maintaining a growth mindset will take the average automotive photographer and turn them into a master. Being able to trust the learning process and accept feedback is, in many ways, more difficult than handling rejection. Feedback is at odds against the pride of an automotive photographer, and many refuse to accept it. Little do they know that the best automotive photographers in the world all love feedback and strive to learn everyday to strengthen their craft.

When someone humbles themselves enough to accept feedback, they will grow.

On the contrary, giving feedback the cold shoulder greatly diminishes your chances to become a better photographer. You limit yourself to what you already know and you block yourself from learning anything else.

Many photographers see feedback, not as help, but an attack. They become defensive. It is important to know that when pride blinds you from excepting feedback, your hate for it will continue to grow, and your love for photography will slowly diminish.

Don't see feedback as an attack, see it as an important learning opportunity. No matter how small or insignificant the feedback is, strive to find some truth in it. The more you learn to accept feedback, the more you'll crave it, and the more your love for automotive photography will grow.

When an automotive photographer craves feedback, the better they'll become. Eventually fewer critiques of their work will surface. But they will be so used to learning, that they will actively seek feedback out. This is when they finally obtain the mindset of a master photographer.

Growth is never ending. Never stop learning, and you will always improve.
